Whether you are out by the pool or have a few friends over, there’s nothing like enjoying the weather with a good drink and a few snacks. Some of the best things are served on a crunchy cracker, which is why this list includes a few special items paired with Triscuit crackers – you probably already have a box of them in the pantry, so you’re half way there.
First up is a delicious recipe that features Detroit’s McClure’s Olive Tapenade. McClure’s uses naturally cured green olives from California, with their special brine recipe, garlic, lemon and rosemary to make a wonderful spread.
McClure’s Olive Tapenade, Goat Cheese, Chives
- Start with an Original Triscuit cracker
- Spread goat cheese on cracker
- Add McClure’s Olive Tapenade
- Top with chopped Chives
If you are a fan of Brie cheese, you’ll love this next one, which was my wife’s favorite. It features a flavorful Cherry Ginger Jam from Brooklyn’s Jam Stand. I have to say, after one taste they now have a fan for life. I made biscuits the next morning just so I could have an excuse to smother them with this delicious jam.
Cherry Ginger Jam, Brie, Walnuts
- Start with an Original Triscuit cracker
- Spread The Jam Stand’s Cherry Ginger Jam on cracker
- Add a piece of brie
- Top with chopped walnuts
This one is a little different, but is sure to be a hit with anyone who has a sweet tooth. Orlando’s Wondermade creates some incredible marshmallows, including their delightful blackberry marshmallows which pair surprisingly well with Nutella and a sliced banana. You can make a savory version of s’mores by sandwiching that goodness between two Triscuit crackers – which gives it an added crunch and a little salt to enhance the flavor.
Wondermade says that they cram pounds of ripe blackberries into every batch of marshmallows and you can really taste the fruit when you take a bite. I also have to say, they have some pretty nice packaging. These marshmallows would make a unique gift all on their own.
Blackberry Marshmallow, Banana, Hazelnut Spread
- Start with an Original Triscuit cracker
- Spread hazelnut spread on cracker
- Add a slice of banana
- Add Wondermade’s Blackberry Marshmallow
- Finish with a second Triscuit cracker to create a sandwich
Another great taste is summer sausage and cheese on a cracker. We lived in Portland, Oregon the past few years, which is home to Olympia Provisions – makers of some of the best summer sausage you have ever tried. I am tempted to make the three hour drive from Seattle to Portland just to buy some more.
Summer Sausage, Aged Cheddar cheese, Pickled Onion
- Start with an Original Triscuit cracker
- Add a slice of Olympia Provisions’ Summer Sausage on cracker
- Add a piece of aged cheddar cheese
- Top with pickled onion
My favorite of the bunch, is a recipe that just screams summer. Peaches, honey, passion fruit, and almonds. What more could you want? Georgia’s Savannah Bee Company create the white honey with passion fruit, which pairs well with the sweetness of the peach slice. The almonds on top give it a little crunch, along with the Triscuit cracker.
Winter White Honey with Passion Fruit, Peaches, Almonds
- Start with an Original Triscuit Cracker
- Spread Savannah Bee Co. Winter White Honey with Passion Fruit on cracker
- Add one fresh peach slice
- Top with chopped almonds
Each of the artisan foods I highlighted were specially created to pair with Triscuit crackers. Most of the food producers will even include a box of Triscuits if you order from their websites, which is kind of like a happy little bonus for snacking.
Enjoy your summer with some delicious snacks!
